# 3.10 - Held Until Trial Procedures

Procedures for handling Held Until Trial (HUT) inmates at the San Andreas Department of Corrections.

  <Step title="HUT Inmate Status">
    HUT Inmates are not convicts, unlike the rest of our inmates. Due to this distinction, they are property of the Department of Justice. Investigative bodies, such as the FIB, will schedule special meetings with these HUT Inmates with DOC Command as reflected in their respective Warden Chat. HUT Inmates have a right to attend these meetings.

  <Step title="Combative HUT Inmates">
    If a HUT Inmate is being combative prior to or during these meetings, restrain them, but leave them present at the meeting.

    HUT inmates will fall under High Security by default, but can be lowered to medium from the DOJ. You can find their role in their HUT chat.

        Medium Security inmates may only meet with their assigned legal counsel and visitors approved ONLY by the DOJ, and their attorney.

        High Security inmates may only meet with their assigned legal counsel and the DOJ. It is imperative to note that the HUT inmates are awaiting trial and any communication with other prisoners or non-approved visitors or attorneys can jeopardize the DOJ's case.
