Certifications for Equipment

High caliber weapons are restricted to those who complete a certification, to ensure the safety of the weapon handler as well as other officers, and any other civilian or inmate.

When carrying large, high-calibre weapons (SIG MCX, H&K 416, or Sentinel Shotgun), it is to be stored in your glovebox unless the transport is designated ‘high risk’ by the accompanying police officers. These weapons should only be used when facing similar large weapons, in order to match force (general rule of thumb is to only use it when you see police officers use it if you are unsure).
